Vero Beach Marine Enhancement Center!
Mission: To build programs upon FIT's strengths coordinate with other FMFEI Strategic Partners to develop cost-efficient enhancement study, aquaculture, and education facilities.
We will be working with the FMFEI Strategic Partners by providing an extremely invaluable saltwater resource to the network. We will also serve the mission wiht an emphasis on education.
Our habitat enhancement goals include:
- South Florida ecosystem restoration
- Hardbottom restoration
- Seagrass restoration
- Mangrove restoration
- Exotics removal
Our stock ehancement goals include:
- Pelagic spawning facilities
Our outreach/education goals include:
- Serve as an ecotourism destination for south east Florida
- Educational labs
- Dorms for visiting scientists and students
